Title of Motion: Request from the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College – Dean, Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College – for the rename of an academic unit – From: Dean, Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College – To: Dean, Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision. 

Rationale: ASU was founded with a mission to prepare the best teachers for our public education system. The college still sets the pace for teacher preparation; however, it is much more than a teachers’ college now.

The college focuses on both teaching and learning, distinguishing itself from other teachers’ colleges by the scope of its ambition, the quality and scale of its research, and its positive impact on both educators and learners.
