Title of Motion: Request from Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation – for the name change of a graduate certificate – From: Family Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner – To: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision. 

Rationale: The purpose of the name change is to align with industry standards and educational institutions. This removes the confusion of specialty by removing the “Family” from the program title, removes the confusion with the Family Nurse Practitioner specialty, demonstrating that this degree focuses on Psychiatric Mental Health.
