Title of Motion: Request from The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences – Department of English – for the disestablishment of a graduate degree – PhD in Applied Linguistics

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision. 

Rationale: This program was transferred to English from the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College in AY 2010/11. In Fall 2015, English launched a PhD in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, which superseded the previous degree. Applications to the PhD Applied Linguistics program have been closed since 2013.
