Title of Motion: Request from the College of Global Futures – Dean’s Office – for the establishment of a new academic unit – School of Conservation Futures

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision. 

Rationale: The new School of Conservation Futures will provide a holistic approach that includes the applied and humanistic knowledge domains and place-based expertise necessary to drive positive outcomes through a broad range of conservation careers. To reshape conservation and provide leading-edge programs, the school will collaborate with and serve communities, organizations and governments locally, regionally and globally.
