Date of First Reading: March 31, 2025

Date of Second Reading: April 28, 2025

Title of Motion: Request from the College of Health Solutions – for the disestablishment of an undergraduate program – BS in Health Education and Health Promotion

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.

Rationale: The College of Health Solutions proposes the disestablishment of the Bachelor of Science in Health Education and Health Promotion to streamline academic offerings and strengthen student pathways to health-related careers. This decision is driven by overlapping coursework and career outcomes with the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences (Healthy Lifestyles and Fitness Science), which has created confusion for students and diluted enrollment across both programs.
