Title of Motion: Request from the W. P. Carey School of Business – Department of Finance – for the establishment of an undergraduate certificate – Essentials of Credit and Leasing
Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.
Rationale: The certificate program in credit and leasing will equip students with an understanding of decision-making criteria for the provision of credit and other non-equity financing, as well as develop marketing skills necessary for success in the credit and leasing industry. The coursework will develop a strong foundation in theory to enable critical thinking and problem-solving for financing challenges facing modern businesses, particularly in the small to medium enterprise segment.
