Title of Motion: Request from The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences – American Indian Studies Program – for the establishment of a graduate certificate – Indigenous Education
Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.
Rationale: Designed as a targeted and accessible program, the microcertificate provides an opportunity for educators, tribal leaders and community members to deepen their understanding of Indigenous knowledge systems, explore culturally responsive pedagogy, and engage with community-based educational practices.
