Title of Motion: Request from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication – for the establishment of a graduate degree – MS in Media Research and Technology
Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.
Rationale: The MS in Media Research and Technology prepares students to analyze media audiences, content and connectivity, and harness innovative technologies to develop useful knowledge on media consumption and creation. Students will learn how to apply advanced technology – including artificial intelligence, biometrics and real-time audience data – in both quantitative and qualitative media research to understand the impact of media and technology, while gaining a deeper understanding of media by creating it.
