Title of Motion: Request from The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences – School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning – for the disestablishment of a graduate degree – MAS in Geographic Education

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.   

Rationale: This program has been inactive and not accepting applications for nearly 5+ years. The school not been offering the required courses in that same window of time with faculty changes and other demands. The last graduate of the program was in 2020. Prior to that, there was a graduate in 2016, and then seven in 2012. The MA in Geography program, which offers similar courses, is now offered both in Tempe and Online, as well.
