Title of Motion: Request from Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation – Division for Advancing Education Policy, Practice and Leadership – for the establishment of a graduate certificate – Certificate in Foundations in Artificial Intelligence for Learning and Innovation

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.   

Rationale: The Foundations of Artificial Intelligence for Learning and Innovation graduate microcertificate is a 9-credit interdisciplinary program that equips students with foundational knowledge, critical awareness, and creative competencies at the intersection of AI, education, and ethical design. Grounded in cutting-edge research and real-world application, the program prepares students to ethically use generative technologies to understand and shape the future of learning environments.
