2027-013
Motion Introduced by: University Academic Council
Date of First Reading: September 28, 2026
Date of Second Reading:
Title of Motion: Temporary CAPC Delegate Process
Action Requested: Senate review and approval.
Rationale: The Curriculum and Academic Programs Committee (CAPC) has encountered circumstances in which a member is temporarily unable to attend a meeting, leaving the member's constituent unit without representation. Senate Bylaw II.B.8.a does not currently provide for a temporary delegate to represent the unit in the member's absence.
Because a permanent amendment to Senate Bylaw II.B.8.a requires consideration through the regular Senate process, the University Academic Council (UAC) is presenting this interim resolution to provide a temporary delegate process for AY 2026–2027.
The temporary variance would permit constituent units to designate delegates for absent CAPC members during the current academic year while CAPC considers whether to propose a permanent amendment to the Senate bylaws.
